Stretchmarks

If you’re among the 80% of people who have stretch marks, you probably know how difficult they are to get rid of. Even after you’ve spent thousands of dollars on creams and oils that claim they’ll get rid of your stretch marks, your stubborn stretch marks just don’t seem to go anywhere.

Often appearing on the stomach, hips, thighs, butt, and breasts, stretch marks can vary in thickness and in color. Stretch marks are caused by your skin stretching quickly. This can be due to weight gain, pregnancy, and even just your genetics!

Microneedling the stretch marks employs the same processes as microneedling any other condition – the stretch mark is treated with the pen over and over again, introducing hydrating serums into the skin. It creates punctures in the scar tissue. The micro-injury is a signal for the body to increase the amount of collagen and elastin in the area. The freshly produced proteins gradually recover the broken web, and as a result, the trenches of stretch marks are plumped up, eventually leveled out with the surrounding undamaged skin.

An additional effect is an increase in skin cell turnover, meaning new, healthy cells are produced faster. Plus, the serums applied supply extra moisture and increase its retention, which contributes to the plumping process.
